This research was based on an analysis of the successes and failures of rural development projects developed in the last five years in two villages near the municipality of Belén de los Andaquíes, Caquetá; these two areas were Los Aletones and La Pradera. Different activities were carried out with producers who are or were part of these projects, in order to collect information through interviews, surveys and visits to the different farms.
As a result, we obtained information about the positive and negative contributions of each community, including the lack of technical support during the entire process involved in these projects, the acquisition of plant material that is not suitable for the area, the supply of poor quality machinery, and finally, the access roads are a limitation for people to take part in these activities, the importance of which is significant for the conservation of the natural environment. Despite the difficult circumstances, good results were also obtained, such as an increase in the learning of processes such as the elaboration of organic fertilizers, and greater care of natural resources.
